Easter & stuff

I literally have about 45 projects going right now, not to mention all my regular stuff. It’s self-inflicted, so I can’t complain.

Basically what it boils down to is, I can’t shut off my brain from thinking up ideas and then I get in too deep to back off. And just like that, another idea comes along.

I would probably be so bored otherwise, so, it’s all good.

We had a lovely Easter at Nick & Jordan’s house!

FUN FACT: Brenden & Abby just bought a house around the corner from N & J’s, literally two minutes away. SO FUN!

Talk to ya later!

Full-Time School, FINALLY!

So, after over a year of hybrid school, my kids finally have the option to go back FULL-TIME. I honestly have mixed emotions, but mostly I feel pretty darn good about it. Mostly because I have not been alone for more than 17 minutes in over 376 days, give or take.

PHOTO DUMP:

I am slowly working towards moving all of my Facebook memories here…  so, here’s a few!

And from my meme hunting:

I am thinking that this is perhaps the laziest form of blogging.

😁😁😁

Facebook Jail

I was put in timeout by Facebook… for  my business page, because apparently I  violated community standards. Cause, you know, posting cinnamon rolls & stuff is super offensive. 🙄

Stupid!

Whatever, FB.

Today Isaiah worked all day scooping cookie dough (approximately 400 cookies) then cut potatoes for French fries and sliced some ham. And after that he had track practice, THEN soccer practice.

In between all of that he asked me to make him a quick over-easy egg, that he would, and I quote, “fold in half and eat real fast.”

So that’s what he did.

I might have gagged.

My sweet DIL Jordan has been without a car all week and she asked me to bring her some lunch… so I did and got to see my sweet baby Emmett! He is the most precious boy! Gosh, I love him.

It was so foggy when I came into work this morning…I had to snap a pic. I totally should have turned around and gone back to bed!

Have the best weekend ever, my friends!

Praise the Lord, tomorrow’s FRIDAY!

It has been a crazy busy week. And I am struggling terribly with my self-diagnosed plantar fasciitis. The pain is super really, ya’ll. But I am working on some at-home remedies that are definitely helping. 🙌

Photo & Meme dump below:

Isaiah: “Lucy, be thankful you don’t have Asian parents.”

Lucy: “OH my gosh, they practically are Asian parents! They’re so strict!”

I’ll take that as a huge compliment, thank you very much.

Larry & Mondays

All I can say about today is, I really need to go into Mondays with a better attitude… because I was a grumpy-grump all day. I had zero reason to be salty, but I was. Tomorrow WILL be better.

Larry had a hair appointment today and boy does he feel fancy now! He is dashing around the house as I type this, like a brand new man. He loves his beauty treatments!

BEFORE
AFTER

I got my She Reads Truth monthly subscription Bible study box today. I am really excited to dive into it once I finish my current study of Mark.

SWEET MEMORY! ⤵️⤵️⤵️

That about does it for today. Thanks for stopping by!

Blessings to each of you! ❤

Emmett

It has been an exciting and eventful weekend, what with Kman dismantling my washing machine and fixing it like brand new. He’s pretty neat that way.

I guess I have no business calling it MY washing machine because I do exactly 3% of the laundry around here. And as much as I wish I could report to you that I can now afford a live-in housekeeper, the truth is, Kman simply realized one day that the best way to get housework done is to do it himself.  And that’s how I got rid of all my household chores. Though I may need some marriage counseling. 😅

The dogs have also been enjoying a relaxing weekend. Clearly.

I got to play with my sweeeeet grandson Emmett today! He is currently my favorite little human (sorry not sorry to all you other humans).

And late Sunday afternoon has me getting back into work mode… printing schedules, menus, and recipes for this week. As much as I LOVE my downtime, I also love the chaos of running two restaurants. (Though, I am not a fan of Mondays.)

MEMORIES, MEMES, AND ENCOURAGEMENT:

Have a very blessed week!

BEAUTIFUL SATURDAY!

Oh my goodness, it’s been a really glorious day here. The sun is shining bright and the temperature is perfect.

I got up at 4:30, had two cups of coffee, had my quiet time, then laid down on the couch and SLEPT TIL 9. Good heavens, I have never done that before, but boy did I need it! Felt so good.

Isaiah and I took a couple hours to go “shopping”, which means more like, run in, grab what we need, and leave as quickly as possible. Done and DONE.

I didn’t even notice his hair horn until I looked at this picture. 🤷‍♀️
Hello, it’s soccer season.
Hello, it’s always sushi season.

**Do me a favor: Please respect my kids by not teasing them in person about stuff I post, ok?

Saturdays at the bakery are by far our busiest days… my team made a gorgeous selection of pastries to fill the case and it was spectacular, as always!

And the burger shop has had a higher than usual volume of business, thus far today, which is fabulous! Great weather always helps with foot traffic.

The food prepping is ongoing so that we don’t ever sell out. That’s always our goal!

Oliver and Larry say, Hi!

Friends, I sure hope your weekend is going wonderfully too! Plan to go to church on Sunday and take the day to also REST!

Happy Heart

IT’S FRIDAY, YAY!

This week has been especially brutal getting up at 3:30. I HATE THREE-THIRTY. But, it’s super important to me to start the day by reading my Bible, then I do about 15 minutes of tweaking our online menu & responding to emails, which wakes me up and gets my brain going.

I typically get to sleep in on Saturday mornings because I have an amazing team who holds down the fort, which is SO NICE!

(I think it’s rude that my dogs have not once asked to refill my coffee for me.)

I really LOVE my early morning baking. I am so productive at that time… it’s my absolute favorite!

•••••••

In January 2020, I started growing out my grey hair… I couldn’t have done it at a better time, being that 2020 was, well, 2020. And no one cared one iota about how anyone looked.

Isn’t it cute how I have my camera facing the wrong way?

If you’re thinking about letting go of your bottled hair, my advice is, DO IT!

Isaiah has take sudden notice of the fact that when he works, he gets paid! So, he has been showing up quite a bit to earn a paycheck.

He spent some quality time with his sister-in-law, Abby, today. She’s so patient and a good teacher of all the things!

Lucy practically runs the burger shop, not even joking. I am super proud of her!

That’s enough random rambling for now.

Thanks for stopping by!

(Here’s a funny for you.)

My Day

Hello, friends!

It was another busy day at work. I don’t think I left the bakery kitchen for more than five minutes. I love that. I hate that. I find that my tiny little space is definitely a comfort zone for me… and my routine is as cozy as my surroundings.

And if I don’t eat a salad by 8AM, I will dive straight into my bakery case and eat all my profit.

There is a guy who owned a sandwich shop in our small town that I visited with a few times, and bless his heart, his knees were so shot from the daily grind of the food industry that he literally transported around his shop in an office chair. And I am really starting to relate to that lately! It is really hard on one’s body to stand in one spot for 10+ hours a day. Ugh. BUT I LOVE IT. I really love my business, my customers, my town, all of it.

God is so good.

Our lunch special today was Asian Orange Chicken with roasted broccoli, steamed rice, and crab Rangoon, sans the crab. So we just call it Homestead Rangoon. And that’s the part of the special that I was in charge of. ✔

My daughter-in-law / General Manager kicked me out around 2:00 and I snagged some pizza dough on my way out the door for dinner.

Isaiah was in charge of making his own pizza. He’s a mystery.

It was a great day.

God is so good.
